What Matters for the Children

Anti-Parasite Medicine

One of the most insidious threats to the children is parasites in the foods that they eat. Unfortunately they have not been taught to wash everything they eat before eating it.  A double threat is that the water  many of the children drink is directly from the polluted river at the base of the town. 

Here you see the children at Changes for New Hope being given anti- parasite medicine. We have secured enough to help 50 more children from another NGO as well.  

     The issue of malnutrition continues to be a huge problem, but the anti-parasitic medicines help to arrest part of the problem. Our next immediate concern is anemia and proper, balanced nutrition.  Childrens vitamins, shipped in to us is our best defense at the time of this writing.

     The children are regularly fed potatoes and rice which is filling but lacking the nutrition they need. We regularly see children walking about eating flour and sugar from a small plastic bag. Here, that is called...lunch.
     Our future plans will include a way to provide a well balanced meal to every child that comes to us. It is part of our "Expansion Plans" .
